The Ocean Alliance, which includes carriers CMA CGM, COSCO Shipping Lines, OOCL, and Evergreen, has implemented new adjustments to its Chesapeake Bay Express (CBX) service. This marks another set of changes to the route, following a recent revision. Key alterations involve the re-establishment of Port Kelang as a call and the addition of New York to the service's rotation.
For freight forwarders and shippers, these service modifications will directly influence transit times and available port connections. The reinstatement of Port Kelang offers renewed direct access to this crucial Southeast Asian hub, potentially streamlining supply chains for cargo originating from or destined for the region. The inclusion of New York expands direct access to the US East Coast, providing more options for cargo movement into and out of the Northeast US. Forwarders should review updated schedules to assess the impact on their existing bookings and future planning, particularly for cargo moving between Asia and the US East Coast.
