CLdN has officially moved its shipping operations from Luxembourg to the United Kingdom. This strategic shift by the shortsea ro-ro operator is accompanied by plans to increase its service offerings to and from Ireland. The company currently owns and operates port terminals in key UK locations, including London, Killingholme, and Liverpool.
Approximately 75% of CLdN's current sailings either originate or terminate at a UK port, indicating a strong existing presence that this operational move is designed to consolidate and build upon. For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this relocation could signal a more streamlined and potentially more frequent service for shortsea routes between the UK, Ireland, and continental Europe. Increased capacity or new routes to Ireland could offer alternative options for cargo movement, potentially impacting transit times and rate competitiveness on these lanes.
