Air France KLM Martinair Cargo (AFKLMP Cargo) has announced its network plans for the 2026-27 winter season, which include the addition of Cairo, Egypt, as a new freighter destination. This expansion brings the total number of dedicated freighter routes operated by the carrier to 14. In addition to these freighter services, AFKLMP Cargo will continue to offer cargo capacity on passenger flights to 112 cities globally, leveraging its extensive network and that of its partner, Delta.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, the introduction of a new freighter link to Cairo signifies enhanced air cargo capacity and potentially more direct routing options for shipments to and from Egypt. This could lead to improved transit times and increased flexibility for supply chains connecting Europe with the Middle East and Africa. The expanded network, combining dedicated freighters with belly cargo on passenger flights, offers a diverse range of service levels and pricing options, allowing forwarders to better manage their clients' airfreight needs, particularly for time-sensitive or high-value goods.
