Kongsberg Maritime has commenced the WINTEGRATE project, a substantial initiative valued at NOK 68 million, aimed at advancing sustainable shipping. This project involves collaboration with shipping companies Odfjell and Seatrans, alongside other Norwegian technology partners. The primary objective is to seamlessly integrate wind propulsion technologies with existing vessel control, routing, and energy management systems. This integration is expected to lead to considerable reductions in fuel consumption and a corresponding decrease in greenhouse gas emissions from ships.
