Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS), a global shipping company based in Singapore, has officially taken delivery of a new very large ammonia carrier (VLAC) from China's Jiangnan Shipyard. The vessel, named Lilac Cove, is designed with a capacity of 93,000 cubic meters and features dual-fuel capabilities, allowing it to operate on both liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and traditional marine fuels. This flexibility enables the carrier to transport both ammonia and LPG cargoes.
This delivery signifies a continued trend in the maritime industry towards adopting alternative fuels and more environmentally friendly vessel designs.
