Russia has officially extended its 20% export duty on soybeans until the end of August 2028. This decision, reported by Interfax news agency, prolongs a measure that was scheduled to conclude in August of the current year. Additionally, the Russian government is reportedly reviewing an extension for the 10% duty currently imposed on linseed, also known as flax.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this extended export duty implies continued cost considerations for clients involved in the trade of Russian soybeans. The tariff will likely influence pricing and demand dynamics for these commodities on the international market, potentially affecting shipping volumes and routing decisions for agricultural exports from Russia. Shippers may seek alternative sourcing or adjust their supply chain strategies to mitigate the impact of the prolonged duty.
