Rio Brasil Terminal (RBT), a facility managed by International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) within Brazil's Port of Rio de Janeiro, has significantly increased its cabotage connectivity. This expansion follows the introduction of a new regular service by Norcoast in July. The service is designed to handle both domestic coastal shipping and feeder cargo, thereby enhancing the transportation alternatives available for goods moving to and from the Rio de Janeiro region.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this development signifies improved domestic logistics options. The additional service capacity can lead to more reliable transit times and potentially more competitive rates for internal Brazilian cargo movements, reducing reliance on other transport modes for domestic distribution. It also offers greater flexibility in routing and scheduling shipments along the Brazilian coast.
