NKT, a power cable manufacturer and installer based in Denmark, has successfully qualified a new 525 kV extruded XLPE subsea high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable system. This innovative technology allows the cable to operate at 90°C, significantly increasing its power transmission capability.
