Group Concorde has secured the General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) contract for Vietjet Air Cargo, covering operations in Japan and Indonesia. This agreement, which commences in August 2026, entrusts Group Concorde with responsibilities for sales, customer interaction, and market expansion within these two nations.
The collaboration is strategically designed to foster further cargo growth for Vietjet throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Both Japan and Indonesia have been identified as crucial markets for airfreight, indicating Vietjet's intent to strengthen its presence and service offerings there. Group Concorde plans to leverage its existing local teams and infrastructure to support these efforts.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this development signifies potential changes in air cargo capacity and routing options for shipments moving between Vietnam and these two markets. The appointment of a dedicated GSSA typically aims to optimize cargo space utilization and enhance service levels, which could lead to more competitive rates or improved booking processes for forwarders. It also suggests a strategic focus by Vietjet on increasing its market share in these trade lanes, potentially offering more consistent uplift for cargo.
