Air cargo demand for Asia Pacific carriers experienced a notable 3.2% year-on-year increase in June, as reported by the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA). This growth was largely attributed to the robust movement of semiconductors and hardware components essential for artificial intelligence applications. Concurrently, air cargo capacity in the region saw a modest rise of 0.2% during the same period. The combination of increased demand and slightly higher capacity resulted in a 1.8 percentage point improvement in the average international freight load factor.
