Transavia, a Dutch low-cost airline, is continuing the renewal of its aircraft fleet by introducing the Airbus A321neo at additional Dutch airports. The airline will begin operating the A321neo from Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM) starting in October 2026. This move follows the aircraft's initial deployment at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS).
Looking ahead, Eindhoven Airport (EIN) is also scheduled to receive the A321neo in the summer of 2027, once the airport completes its planned reopening. This strategic fleet upgrade aims to enhance operational efficiency and potentially increase passenger capacity on key routes from these regional hubs.
For freight forwarders, while Transavia is primarily a passenger airline, increased passenger flight frequency and larger aircraft like the A321neo can indirectly impact air cargo capacity. More belly cargo space might become available on these routes, potentially offering alternative options for smaller, time-sensitive shipments, especially from regional airports like Rotterdam and Eindhoven. This could lead to more competitive rates or greater flexibility for air cargo out of these locations.
