TAAG Angola Airlines initiated its first cargo-only flight service between Luanda, Angola, and Lusaka, Zambia, on July 24. The new route connects Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport in Luanda with Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka. This strategic move is part of TAAG's broader objective to enhance its footprint and secure a larger share in the competitive African airfreight market.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this new direct freighter service introduces additional air cargo capacity on the Angola-Zambia lane. It provides a direct and potentially faster option for shipments between these two key African markets, bypassing traditional transit hubs. This could lead to improved transit times and potentially more stable rates for cargo moving in this corridor, offering an alternative to existing passenger belly-hold capacity or less direct routes.
