CNC, a regional specialist under CMA CGM, has announced changes to its JTX (Japan-Thailand Express) service. The updated rotation will now feature direct calls at Shantou, China, and Batangas, Philippines. This strategic enhancement is designed to improve direct container shipping links within the intra-Asia network, connecting significant markets such as Japan, South China, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this service upgrade means more direct routing options and potentially reduced transit times for cargo moving between the newly added ports and other points on the JTX loop. The introduction of direct calls can lead to greater schedule reliability and efficiency, as it eliminates the need for transshipment at intermediate hubs for cargo destined for Shantou or Batangas. This could also influence capacity and rates on these specific lanes, offering more competitive options for shippers targeting these regions.
