GEODIS has announced the appointment of Eric Gerbi as the Executive Vice President of its Global Freight Forwarding business. In addition to this leadership role, Gerbi will also join the Group’s Executive Board, which is chaired by CEO Marie-Christine Lombard. This promotion follows his tenure as the Chief Financial Officer for the Global Freight Forwarding division, a position he held since 2024.
Gerbi's career began at BNP Paribas before he moved to Deloitte, accumulating significant financial expertise. His background in finance within the freight forwarding sector positions him to oversee the strategic and operational aspects of GEODIS's global logistics network.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, this appointment signals a continuity in leadership within GEODIS's freight forwarding arm. A new EVP can influence strategic direction, potentially impacting service offerings, network expansion, and operational efficiencies. Forwarders working with or competing against GEODIS may observe shifts in their market approach, particularly concerning global trade lanes and digital transformation initiatives, as new leadership often brings fresh perspectives to capacity management and rate strategies.
