MSC and its logistics division, MEDLOG, have recently achieved renewed certifications from RINA, a prominent certification body, for their Food Safety Management System (FSM) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) protocols. This renewal signifies the companies' continued commitment to maintaining high standards in the handling and transportation of sensitive cargo, particularly food products.
Adding to this achievement, MEDLOG Italy has obtained FSM certification for the first time. This expansion broadens the certified network within the group's operations, indicating a wider adoption of stringent food safety standards across more of their facilities and services. The two certifications, FSM and GDP, address different yet interconnected aspects of managing cargo that requires specific environmental and handling conditions.
For freight forwarders and shippers, these certifications provide assurance regarding the quality and safety of logistics services for food-grade and other sensitive goods. It indicates that MSC and MEDLOG adhere to internationally recognized best practices, potentially reducing risks associated with contamination, spoilage, or regulatory non-compliance during transit. This can be a critical factor for supply chain managers when selecting carriers and logistics providers for perishable or regulated commodities, offering greater confidence in the integrity of their shipments.
