The Hong Kong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics (HAFFA) and the Vietnam Institute for Logistics and Supply Chain (VILS) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Global Exhibition on Services (GELS) event held in Bangkok. This agreement is designed to foster closer ties in the logistics sectors of Hong Kong and Vietnam. The collaboration will focus on several key areas, including strengthening trade connections, developing joint training programs, providing policy advisory services, and facilitating the exchange of industry knowledge and best practices.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this MoU signals a potential for streamlined logistics processes and improved connectivity between Hong Kong and Vietnam. Enhanced cooperation could lead to more efficient cargo flows, reduced transit times, and potentially new business opportunities in both regions. The focus on training and knowledge exchange may also contribute to a more skilled workforce and better understanding of regulatory environments, ultimately benefiting cross-border operations. While direct rate or capacity impacts are not immediately apparent, the long-term goal of strengthening trade links suggests a positive environment for future logistics growth.
