Multiboxx has recently announced that it has taken orders for around 200 mini-reefer containers. These units, available in 8ft and 10ft sizes, are designed to operate on single-phase power and are slated for deployment within rental fleets and for diverse cold storage purposes. This development highlights an emerging market for more compact and adaptable refrigerated container solutions.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, the availability of smaller reefer units like these could offer increased flexibility for specialized cargo requirements, particularly for smaller consignments or niche cold chain logistics. These mini-reefers might be beneficial for last-mile delivery of temperature-sensitive goods, temporary storage at distribution points, or for clients who do not require the capacity of a standard 20ft or 40ft reefer. This could potentially open up new service offerings and improve efficiency for specific cold chain segments.
