KLN Logistics Group has inaugurated a new road feeder service designed to connect Europe with major markets across the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. This extensive 10,500-kilometre route provides door-to-door transit times ranging from 15 to 25 days. The service is positioned to offer a middle-ground option for shippers, balancing the speed of air freight with the cost-effectiveness of ocean freight.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this new service presents an alternative for shipments that are time-sensitive but do not require the premium speed of air cargo, or for those where ocean freight is too slow. It offers a single-contract solution, simplifying logistics by including customs clearance and other necessary arrangements. This could potentially alleviate pressure on air cargo capacity for certain lanes and provide a more predictable transit time compared to current sea routes, especially given potential disruptions. It also offers a direct, managed solution for landlocked regions or areas with less frequent direct sea connections.
