The British International Freight Association (BIFA) recently announced the appointment of Amanda Francis to the role of PR and Media Manager. In this position, Francis will be responsible for developing and executing BIFA's communication strategy across national, regional, and trade media channels. She brings a decade and a half of expertise in strategic communications, including thought leadership and reputation management, gained from both public and private sector roles.
This personnel change coincides with the semi-retirement of Ian Matheson, who has served the organization for 20 years. Francis's appointment is expected to refresh BIFA's public engagement and media outreach efforts.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this appointment signifies a potential shift in how BIFA communicates with its members and the wider industry. A more robust and strategically managed communication strategy could lead to clearer information dissemination regarding industry trends, regulatory changes, and advocacy efforts, which are crucial for operational planning and compliance. It may also enhance BIFA's influence in policy discussions, indirectly benefiting its members.
