Air China Cargo has entered its first global digital distribution agreement, integrating its air cargo capacity onto the cargo.one platform. This partnership, which commenced on August 27, allows freight forwarders in Europe and North America to access, quote, book, and track cargo services instantly. The platform supports bookings for various cargo types, including express shipments, up to a weight limit of 5000 kg.
This move signifies a strategic shift for Air China Cargo towards enhancing its digital presence and streamlining the booking process for its customers. By offering real-time access to capacity and pricing, the airline aims to improve efficiency and responsiveness in its cargo operations.
For freight forwarders, this integration means improved access to Air China Cargo's network, particularly for routes connecting Europe and North America to destinations served by the carrier. The ability to instantly quote and book capacity can significantly reduce lead times and administrative burdens, allowing for quicker decision-making and more efficient space procurement. This could lead to better rate transparency and potentially more competitive pricing for certain lanes, while also enhancing operational flexibility for urgent shipments.
The partnership is expected to expand Air China Cargo's reach within key markets and provide cargo.one users with a broader selection of available air freight options.
