A recent study conducted by the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK) among 530 entrepreneurs indicates that geopolitical conflicts, international trade policies, and ongoing tensions are substantially affecting Dutch businesses. The primary impact is seen in the rising costs of energy, procurement, and particularly transport. More than 50% of the surveyed companies report experiencing these adverse effects.
For freight forwarders and operations managers, this trend suggests continued volatility and upward pressure on pricing across all transport modes. Shippers should anticipate higher freight rates and potentially longer lead times due to increased operational complexities and costs for carriers. The broader geopolitical landscape directly translates into tangible financial burdens for supply chains, necessitating robust risk management and flexible logistics strategies.
