Acta Marine, a Netherlands-based company, has announced the delivery of the *Acta Gemini*, its latest methanol dual-fuel Walk-to-Work (W2W) DP2 Construction Service Operation Vessel (CSOV). This vessel is the third of four newbuilds being constructed at Tersan Shipyard in Yalova, Türkiye. The *Acta Gemini* follows the *Acta Pegasus*, delivered in January, and the *Acta Hercules*, delivered two months later.
The *Acta Gemini* is scheduled to begin a long-term charter supporting the Sofia Offshore Wind Farm, located at Doggerbank in the UK. Its operational base will be Grimsby, from where it will provide essential services to the wind farm.
For freight forwarders and logistics professionals, the delivery of such specialized vessels underscores the growing demand for project cargo and heavy-lift capabilities in the renewable energy sector, particularly offshore wind. The use of methanol dual-fuel technology reflects a broader industry trend towards decarbonization, which may influence future bunker fuel availability and pricing. This expansion of the CSOV fleet indicates sustained investment in offshore wind infrastructure, potentially leading to consistent demand for related logistics services and specialized vessel charters. Forwarders involved in energy projects should note the increasing focus on sustainable vessel operations and the strategic importance of ports like Grimsby for offshore wind logistics.
